Why Us?

Kathy Recordon has practiced exclusively Family Law since 1980. She has been a San Diego Superior Court Settlement Judge Pro Tem since 1994, helping other lawyers and their clients resolve their cases without the stress and expense of going through with an unnecessary trial.

Our firm will negotiate, mediate or litigate your case depending on
what is in your best interest. We will not force litigation just to increase our fees.

I remember you said at our first meeting that many attorneys will promise you the world and know they cannot deliver. You told me to sit outside of a Family Law Court and watch as attorneys and client exit. As promised, there were many, many very unhappy clients arguing with their attorneys stating but you said… I am so glad that I listened to you and that you were honest about what to expect and what I would be entitled to. I appreciate the way you explained everything to me, sometimes many times! The best thing – I really liked how apparent it was that you were well respected by your peers and the judges. Well, I was embarrassed to have to call you for the third time! I thought you would really laugh at me for having married, and now divorcing, three times. You made it very easy for me to get through yet another divorce. And I promise, Ill call you next time too.

My wife and I were really worried about the mediation process. Although we were not getting along (obviously) you were able to keep us focused on the issue at hand and provided insight to alternatives in resolving our issues. We both think that by your mediating our case we were able to preserve what respect and caring we had for each other. And, as you said, that is really important because we have children together. Your are right, our relationship does not end when the kids turn 18, but continues through graduations, weddings and grandchildren. You helped us see the big picture. Thanks, we will be able to enjoy our children because of that perspective.
