California is a no fault divorce state. your spouse does not have to agree to the divorce in order for the court to grant it. The grounds for a divorce in California are irreconcilable differences. This means that differences have come up between you and your spouse and you no longer wish to continue in the marriage. THAT’S IT. This is all it takes in California.
