Debt Collection Harassment

You have the right to stop debt collector telephone harassment. You can ask they collector to stop calling you verbally or in writing. If they continue to harass you, they may be violation the FDCPA (Fair debt collections practice act) and the California Rosenthal Act. Make sure you send any letter by Certified Mail as well as a copy for your records.

Types of harassment:

• Using profane language
• Refusing to tell you who they are when they call
• Threatening to have you arrested
• Calling you before 8am or after 9pm
